Eric and Jeff Schmidt (CCOC Teacher) discuss and demonstrate movie special effects and compositing effects. You will also learn about working in Hollywood and careers in filmmaking.

Jeff Rascov (West Valley Teacher) and crew show you a few examples of student-created special effects.

We provide a free sandwich lunch.

Breakout Sessions
Every 30 minutes you will rotate to a different room.
For example: 1:00-1:30, 1:40-2:10, and 2:20-2:50 where you will practice shooting video (cameras), compositing video computers), and working with Apple Motion (taught by an Apple Certified Instructor).

Film Crew Sign-ups
Sign up to work with other students to produce a short film for our June 8 Film Festival. Sign up for our April Audio Saturday Seminar.

Parent(s) must sign a letter of permission for their student(s) to attend (available online at www.learningbytes.com or at registration). Parents and middle school or high school age brothers, sisters, friends are welcome. Parents are not required to attend the events.

Students participating in the March and April Seminars and the June Film Festival earn a Certificate in Digital Media from West Valley College.

Films created by students will be available for viewing at the upcoming website www.cool2film.com.

The day is free to attend. Thanks to West Valley College and the California Community College's Career Technical Education and Economic/Workforce Development Agencies who promote California's great career opportunities in the Arts, Multimedia, and Entertainment.
